- Time Value of Money
Time value of money is an important concept that you’ll need to master in order to perform well in corporate finance. If you’d like to brush up in this area, the CICA’s hour-long tutorial explains how to calculate the present and future value of both lump sums and annuities, as well as the present value of perpetual annuities.

- Financial Statement Analysis
This on-line course was developed exclusively for participants in the CF Education Program who want to quickly review financial statement ratios. Over approximately two hours, it provides an excellent refresher for those who haven’t analyzed financial statements recently.
- Interpreting Financial Statement Ratios
This more advanced course provides you with a framework within which to tackle financial statement interpretation. It will help you view the big picture and consider the company as a whole. Over approximately two hours, it will prepare you to get the most out of the CF Program
- Preparing to Raise Capital – The Basics
This course provides you with an overview of the basic concepts of financing and the different forms of capital. Armed with that knowledge, you'll explore the different issues involved in strategic financial design.
- Accessing Canada's Financial Markets
In this course, you’ll learn about the different sources of debt capital in Canada and look at the issues involved with equity-based financing. In addition, you’ll learn how to prepare a request for financing and who to present it to. This course will equip you with the tools you need to access financing in Canada.
Taxation Issues in Corporate Finance: These two courses dealing with tax issues in corporate finance are at a slightly more advanced level.
- Tax Issues related to Financing – The Basics
Designed for CAs who understand basic corporate taxation, this course will discuss the basic tax issues involved in all kind of financing – from debt to equity to hybrid financing as well as inbound and outbound financings. At the end of the course, you won't be a taxation expert, but you will be able to recognize and understand the issues to structure the best deal possible to meet your client’s needs.
- Tax Issues Applicable to Merger & Acquisition Transactions
Building on the basic issues identified in the first tax course - Tax Issues related to Financing - The Basics, this next course will apply those concepts in an M&A context. You'll learn about the tax issues involved with asset vs. share deals, bump transactions, and lots more.
